Stockholm – the unicorn factory

Stockholm occupies an exceptionally positive position  when it comes to creating unicorn companies, that is privately owned companies with a valuation of more than 1 billion dollars. Of the approximately 260 unicorn companies that exist in the world, 41 in Europe, seven originated in Sweden. Several successful international companies, such as Spotify, Klarna, Mindcraft, Skype, Mojang, Avito, Apotea, King, Izettle and Truecaller, were all founded in Stockholm. This is often referred to as the Swedish Tech Miracle.
